Los Angeles (myFOXla.com) - Designers and their muses came together to ring in LA Fashion Week with an event to raise scholarship money for design students.
The Fashion Group International event was a sampling of what Los Angeles designers offer to the fashion world.
Behind every great designer is a muse. It could be a singer... a favorite person... or even a building!
So says former Project Runway contestant and now fashion designer Rami Kashou.
Rami Kashou:
"This dress, as the collection is, is inspired by Frank
Gehry's architecture. It's inspired by the Disney Hall Building in
Downtown Los Angeles."
Lloyd Klein credits Kathy Ireland as his muse.
Lloyd Klein:
"She has the body... she has the beauty and the great energy.
You just get inspired."
Kathy Ireland:
"He approaches design from his background in architecture and
you see that and experience that."
Randolph Duke loves dancers, like Edyta Sliwinska, and mythical characters.
Randolph Duke:
"This is a coutour dress from spring collection... modern...
with a goddess hip thing going on.
Another popular muse at the event... moms!
Rachel Palley brought hers. And Nick Verreos says his mom still inspires him.
