Hollywood Hills (myFOXla.com) - A burglary was reported at Lindsay Lohan's Hollywood Hills home and Los Angeles police are investigating.

The report came into the LAPD's Hollywood station about 6 a.m. of a burglary at the actress' residence in the 2200 block of El Contento Drive, a Hollywood watch commander said.

Police could not provide any further details about what may have been taken or how the thieves got into the house, said Los Angeles police spokeswoman Officer Norma Eisenman.

"The safe was ripped out of the wall, and the door was off the hinges and door handles removed," Lohan's mother Dina told People.com. "Bags, shoes and jewelry were taken too. Thank God she wasn't home."

The actress was planning to move, even before the break-in occurred, her mother told People.com.

"Ali and Linds just left me in New York, and left people in charge to pack, as we are moving her to a safer place."

Lohan was apparently rattled, her mother told People. "She is okay, but upset."

This was the second reported break-in at Lohan's current residence. The first was reported in May.

TMZ.com reports a source that says three men were caught on surveillance video breaking into the home. The earlier burglary was caught on tape.

Lohan's father believes today's burglary was an inside job and had tough words for those responsible, according to TMZ.com.

"I am not going to put up with individuals violating my family. Lindsay is a charitable, generous person that always gives. This is a personal violation and it has got to stop," he told TMZ.com.
