Earlier Information:

Michael Jackson's physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, said through his lawyers that he will meet with Los Angeles police at an undisclosed location at 4 p.m., according to TMZ.

Meantime, members of Michael Jackson's family are meeting today at patriarch Joe Jackson's house talking about funeral plans and other family business.

That's the word from Tito Jackson, who told the celebrity gossip site that custody and plans for Michael Jackson's three children are also being discussed.

Jackson's family also asked for an independent autopsy, which is being conducted. Coroner's office officials confirmed that they were aware of the second autopsy order.

Police barricades are up on Hayvenhurst Avenue, where hundreds of Jackson fans have gathered outside the family house.

On the other side of the Sepulveda Pass earlier today, moving vans pulled up inside the gated mansion just off Sunset Boulevard that was rented by the pop superstar.

It's not known who ordered Michael Jackson's things to be collected or where the vans will be going, but vans were seen leaving the home again later.

Across town at the Shrine Auditorium, artists like Beyonce, Ne-Yo and Wyclef Jean are working out new song and dance routines for tomorrow's BET Music Awards, which is being turned into a Michael Jackson tribute show.

LA police are reported to be seeking to question one of Michael Jackson's doctors from the Middle East about his sudden death.

Doctor Tohme K. Tohme does not have a license to practice medicine in America, and police are not accusing him of doing that.

But Tohme had become the latest close advisor and confidante to Jackson, and is thus a person of interest.

Tohme reportedly connected Jackson to the deep-pocket financiers who lent him enough money to prevent Neverland Ranch from being foreclosed last spring.

The body of the 50-year-old singer was released to a mortuary by the coroner's office Friday night. The cause of death has been deferred pending toxicology reports, which take four to six weeks.

Jackson apparently got an injection of Demerol -- an opioid painkiller -- about 11:30 a.m. Friday at his rented Holmby Hills mansion, then stopped breathing shortly afterward.

TMZ.com, which broke the news of the singer's death based on statements from paramedics who said they were unable to revive Jackson shortly after arriving at 12:21 p.m., reported that Jackson called the shots of Demerol a "health tonic."

ABC News reported that Jackson had been addicted to Demerol for about 20 years.

Jackson's three children are staying with their grandmother, Jackson family matriarch Katherine Jackson. The two oldest children -- Michael "Prince" Joseph Jr., 12, and Paris Michael Katherine, 11 -- may eventually be turned over to their mother, Deborah Rowe.

Prince Michael II, 7, is the product of an unknown surrogate mother. Former Jackson financial adviser Alvin Malnik, told The New York Times he signed papers that said he would care for the child as his own if something happened to Jackson. Malknik, who lives in Florida, also told the newspaper he may be one of the executors of Jackson's will.

It is unclear who will take charge of Jackson's affairs. He reportedly cleaned house about three months ago, hiring new advisers as he geared up for a 50-night engagement at London's O2 Arena. Bodybuilder and former "Incredible Hulk" star Lou Ferrigno reportedly had been working out with Jackson for several months.

The promoter, AEG Live, could take a considerable loss on the sold-out shows that were set to begin July 13, depending on what insurance covers and the results of toxicology reports.

It's unclear what Dr. Conrad Murray, Jackson's personal physician for about three years, might have told Los Angeles police detectives investigating the singer's death. He apparently was the only person with Jackson when he fell unconscious, according to the Jackson staffer who called 911.

Police had Murray's BMW towed away from Jackson's rented home, but detectives have not disclosed what, if anything, they found inside related to the death.

Murray apparently accompanied Jackson to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, where he was officially declared dead at 2:26 p.m.

Jackson acknowledged being addicted to prescription drugs in the 1990s.

Randy Phillips, chief executive of AEG Live, told the Los Angeles Times that Jackson passed a four-hour physical required to insure his London performances, and Jackson was given a clean bill of health.

Asked if the the physical would have revealed drug use, he told the newspaper "Absolutely."

A former associate, who spoke to the Los Angeles Times on the condition of anonymity, suggested that Jackson may have turned to drugs to get ready for the concert series -- his first live shows in about 12 years.

"He had a way of almost demanding (drugs), because he would say he couldn't perform and

therefore a doctor would give it to him. He had taken a tremendous amount of narcotics and had a very high tolerance," the source told the Los Angeles Times.

The source said he feared being drawn into the police investigation and had not been in contact with Jackson in recent years.

According to Jackson adviser Dr. Tohme Tohme, Murray was brought to Los Angeles about two weeks ago. Phillips of AEG said Jackson insisted on bringing Murray to London with him, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Murray, 51, has never been subjected to disciplinary action, according to available public records. He did not return messages left at his offices, and no one answered the door at his Las Vegas home -- a million-dollar stucco- and-stone dwelling in a gated community next to Red Rock Country Club.

Meanwhile, fans of the singer thronged around his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the family's home in in Encino.
