Carrie Prejean, former Miss California contestant that was stripped of her crown after failed contractual obligations, has landed a book deal with Regnery Publishing . The book is due out in November, but the terms of the deal have not been released.
The title of the book is "Still Standing." It will tell her side of the controversy that began after she answered a question on gay marriage.
During this year's Miss USA Pageant judge Perez Hilton asked her whether she felt states should legalize same-sex marriage. She responded , "We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage. You know what, in my country, in my family, I do believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman, no offense to anybody out there."
The press release for the book states that "The unprecedented personal attacks that ensued eventually culminated in Prejean being stripped of her Miss California crown. But the 22-year-old won the respect of millions for modeling something other than evening gowns and swimsuits -- the courage of standing up for her convictions."
Before being fired as Miss California in June, Prejean appeared as a fill-in host on "Fox and Friends".
