Los Angeles - Orange County surfer Joe Aaron of Capistrano Beach is one of the nominees in the Longboarder category of the OC Register's annual OC Surfer of the Year Contest.

Aaron, who is 19 years old, is one of the local surfers who'll be competing in the upcoming U.S. Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach.
