Los Angeles - "Kangaroo Care" involves placing preemies skin to skin against the chest of their parent... In general, experts feel that skin to skin contact can be extremely beneficial to babies, especially preemies once they're stable enough to be held.
American doctors started using it here after noticing that Guatemalan preemies who got the contact, were growing faster and were more likely to survive.
