Los Angeles - The Conrad Murray trial remained dark Tuesday, because of a death in the family of one of the witnesses... but a new controversy is brewing over a study allegedly ordered by Dr. Conrad Murray's defense team involving dogs and propofol.

According to radaronline.com, the defense commissioned a study on beagles to determine how much propofol would have to be ingested to cause Michael Jackson's death. A source close to the defense told us no beagles were harmed in the study.
