Los Angeles - Dating in 2010 can be tough, but we've got some expert advice to help you reel in that perfect person.
All those single ladies searching for Mr. Right may be taking the wrong approach in their quest to find true love.
Pat Allen, a behavioral therapist, and Steven Ward, CEO of Master Matchmakers, share some insight on why some women are staying single.
Pat Allen, Behavioral Therapist:
"Men know they're in love when they're ready to give, protect, and cherish."
Pat Allen, Behavioral Therapist:
"Dating is for today. Dinner and maybe sex, maybe not sex. Courtship is 'I want to get to know you because I want something more than just dating.' It's serious, so in that particular case I recommend no sex. Men have the tendency to want to hook up. Young women have the tendency to want to court."
Steven Ward, CEO Master Matchmakers:
"I think its more important to look into reasons why he is into you. Any of those reason could be him making you a priority. Canceling plans he had with other people, leaving you a voicemail, or making a comment on your Facebook page or something to let you know he's thinking about you."
Pat Allen, Behavioral Therapist:
"Women think from A to Z. Men think from A to B. Because of that, women get married, like, magically. 'We had a good time therefore he's like me. I'm like him and we're connected.' No, he just had a good time that night. He's got eight weeks to call. Men do not fall in love when they recieve. When they have to work for it, they appreciate it."
Don't worry if you're slow to make a love connection. It's not necessarily a bad thing. Good things come to those who wait... and work for it.
