West Los Angeles - 3D TV promises to put all other televisions to shame. Best Buy has clinched the exclusive rights to sell Panasonic's first three dimensional TV home-entertainment system in the US.
Panasonic unveiled its 3D TV on Wednesday in New York, China and London. The price tag for the TV is about $2,500 for a 50-inch plasma.
Some analysts however believe limited viewing content, outside of compatible 3D movies, will slow sales initially, but with Direct TV's promise of a trio of 3D channels coming in June, consumers may find that the experience of 3D is worth the price.
Jackie Martinez/Supervisor, Best Buy West LA:
"HD is like high quality and resolution, but with 3D, it's like you're in the movie you see the person next to you, in your face and it's a great experience."
