Los Angeles - In November the highest court in the land will hear arguments over California's law on violent video games. Two groups recently filed a brief challenging that 2005 law which bans the sale of violent video games to minors without parental consent.

The law aimed at cracking down on popular games like "Halo" and "Cop Killer" is being challenged by the Entertainment Software Association and the Entertainment Merchants Association. Those two groups call the law dangerous and say there's no evidence parents need governmental assistance to protect their children from violent video game content.

Gerry Block, the Product Manager for Performer Design Products and Michele MacNeal, California Chapter Director for the Parents Television Council were live in the FOX 11 Newsroom for a debate on whether or not children should have parental consent to buy violent video games.
