Miramonte Elementary will stay closed until Wednesday morning to enable the Los Angeles Unified School District to replace the entire staff.
This follows the arrests last week of two teachers on allegations of lewd acts and sexual crimes against students. LAUSD Superintendent Dr. John Deasy announced the shake-up at a meeting with Miramonte parents Monday night.
Qualified teachers on a placement or rehiring list will be brought in to the school, the displaced staff will continue to be paid and will also receive counseling.
The Union that represents L-A-area teachers is raising no objections to the staff shake-up.
