(MYFOX NATIONAL) - Police are beginning to piece together the timeline in the murder of Jasmine Fiore whose body was found on Saturday stuffed in a suitcase and left in a dumpster.
TMZ reports that Fiore and her former husband, suspected killer Ryan Jenkins, had checked into the L'Auberge Del Mar hotel near San Diego last Thursday. Authorities tell TMZ that Fiore was strangled sometime after midnight on Friday. On a hotel surveillance video, Jenkins can be seen leaving the hotel on Friday morning with his luggage, but Fiore is not with him.
TMZ says sources say the suitcase in which Fiore was stuffed in resembles one Jenkins had with him when he left the hotel.
The Associated Press reports that police have visited the hotel twice looking for evidence. Michael Slosser, vice president and managing director of L'Auberge Del Mar, said about the murder, "It's very unlikely that it happened here. I can't talk about the specifics." But TMZ reports that the white Mercedes that Jenkins was driving when he left the hotel has not been found, and that police believe it's possible Jenkins murdered Fiore in the hotel room and then mutilated her body after he left.
Fiore's cell phone also has not been found. TMZ writes that Fiore had been text messaging her former boyfriend, Robert Hasman , in the days leading up to her death, saying that she wanted to go to Las Vegas to see him. Hasman reportedly received a text message from Fiore's phone, saying "Suck it," which police now tell TMZ was sent after Fiore was killed.
U.S. Marshalls have issued a reward up to $25,000 for information on Jenkins. Authorities tell the AP that Jenkins may have driven and boated more than 1,000 miles to reach his native Canada where he is believed to have fled.
