Los Angeles - In spite of rising tuition costs, three University of California schools have been named among the nation's best public school bargains by Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine.
UC Berkeley finished seventh out of 100, UCLA was ninth, and U-C San Diego came in at Number 10. Other Southern California schools that did well were UC Irvine at Number 22, San Diego State at 77, Cal Poly Pomona at 91, UC Riverside at 95 and Cal State Long Beach at 98.
The Kiplinger rankings honor 100 schools for their combination of quality and affordability.
For the 11th straight year, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill was ranked first.
