Maywood Teacher Gets Prestigious Milken Award

Maywood - A routine day turns into the surprise of a lifetime for a third grade teacher at Maywood Elementary as she's honored with a prestigious national award.

Third grade teacher Tamara Garfio fom LAUSD's Maywood Elementary School was honored by the Milken Family Foundation as one of the best teachers in the country.

The surprise ceremony included a $25,000 prize... no strings attached... as well as heaps of praise from her students and fellow teachers.
