USC Tops Foreign Student Enrollment List

Los Angeles -  A new report says the University of Southern California has more foreign students than any other American university.

The Institute of International Education says more than 8,600 international students were enrolled at USC in the 2010-2011 academic year.

Chinese students comprised the single largest block at around 2,000 -- a record enrollment. Students from India were the second at nearly 1,500.

Most of the international students were enrolled in graduate-level programs, many of them in engineering. The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign ranked second behind USC in foreign enrollment. New York University was third. UCLA ranked sixth.
