Long Beach - FOX 11 News caught the first video of Kinde Durkee since she was accused of ripping off some of California's biggest political figures and some of its neediest non-profits.
As the head of Durkee and Associates, she was a campaign finance "expert" who did the books for political bigwigs such as Senator Dianne Feinstein, Congresswoman Lorretta Sanchez, and Assembly Members Lou Correa and Jose Solorio.
She also handled finances for hundreds of political committees and at least three dozen charities.
FOX 11 Investigative Reporter Gina Silva and her producers have been working hard to track Durkee down, which they did a few hours ago.
"Ever since the story broke three weeks ago, we've tried repeatedly to get an interview with her through her attorney and no one ever returned our phone calls," says Gina. "She's been in hiding since the arrest, but we finally tracked her down in the Long Beach area."
Durkee wanted nothing to do with us. Neither did her husband.
What about the neighbors?
No one in that community would talk about her. They like her. Off-camera, one person expressed his support for her, saying it's possible the politicians took the money and now they're blaming her.
Durkee was arrested on September 2nd and released on a $200,000 bond.
She is not supposed to leave the area and she's not supposed to be in contact with her firm.
