Los Angeles (myFOXla.com) - Several school-aged bullies in the Calabasas area may have a
nervous Thanksgiving today.
Some 25 juveniles have been questioned by investigators from
the Malibu- Lost Hills Sheriff's Station in connection with
assaults by classmates on seven students with red hair at a
Calabasas middle school, authorities said.
Arrests are expected soon, said Lt. Rich Erickson of the
sheriff's station, which is investigating "Kick a Ginger Day," an
Internet spoof apparently inspired by an episode of the "South
Park" cartoon series.
Eight male students have been identified as the possible
culprits, Erickson said.
The attacks on four girls and three boys occurred Friday at
A.E. Wright Middle School, said sheriff's Lt. Scott Chew of the
Malibu-Lost Hills Station.
The first reported victim was a 12-year-old boy in the
seventh grade, Chew said.
Detectives investigated whether the assaults were related to
"Kick a Ginger Day," which began last year when some young people
circulated messages on the Internet urging people to beat up
redheads on Nov. 20.
Similar messages were spread on Facebook and other Internet
sites this year, Erickson said.
