Brush Fire in Temecula Area

Temecula, CA (myFOXla.com) - Firefighters are making gains in containing a fire that burned 94 acres of dense brush near Temecula and forced nearby offices to evacuate.

Riverside County Fire Capt. Fernando Herrera says the fire started Thursday afternoon at an industrial business park and quickly spread uphill by winds gusting up to 20 mph. Several businesses west of Temecula were temporarily evacuated. No homes are threatened.

Herrera says 350 firefighters, aided by three water-dropping helicopters, reached 40 percent containment within 31/2 hours.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
