Encino (myFOXla.com) - A reporter near the Jackson family home in Encino was injured Monday night when he was struck in a hit-and-run accident by a car that was allegedly speeding.

Craig Boswell, a Fox News Channel reporter, was standing on Hayvenhurst Avenue, near Libbit Avenue, about 100 yards south of the Jackson family home, shortly after 10 p.m. when a car struck him in the foot, said Lt. Jeffrey Perkins of the Los Angeles Police Department.

The car, which may have been going as fast as 60 mph in a 30 mph zone, according to witnesses interviewed by FOX 11 News, sped away.

One witness said he saw a gold Toyota Corolla driven by a female hit Bosworth. The witness, a nurse, aided Bosworth, who he said had a smashed foot.

Boswell was taken to a hospital, Perkins said. The driver may not have realized that he stuck Bosworth on a foot, Perkins said.

The incident will be investigated by Valley Traffic Division, Perkins said.
