Car Plows into Cerritos Home

Cerritos (myFOXla.com) - A car crashed into a Cerritos home today, causing major structural damage but no injuries, officials said.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department in Cerritos was called to the 12000 block of W. 195 Street at 2 a.m. after a BMW crashed into a front bedroom, said Lt. Richard Harpham, the watch commander at the Cerritos station.

No one was in the bedroom at the time, said Harpham, adding the man driving, was unhurt. One woman was sleeping in the house at the time, but she was in a bedroom at the back of the house, said Harpham.

Harpham said the driver was initially detained but that no charges were filed.

The cause of the crash was under investigation and the damage estimate was unknown, said Harpham.
