Westminster (myFOXla.com) - A Southern California city councilman has pleaded guilty to
driving drunk when he ran his Mercedes Benz into a power pole.
Prosecutors say Westminster Councilman Andy Quach reached a
plea deal with prosecutors and was sentenced Wednesday to three
years of probation.
Quach's sentence also includes a 10-day work program, $2,000
in fees and a nine-month alcohol awareness program.
Quach was convicted of two drunken driving misdemeanors and a
sentencing enhancement for the Aug. 2 incident in which he clipped
another car and hit an electricity pole. His blood-alcohol level
registered .26 percent, more than three times the legal limit.
A message was left for Quach's attorney Bart Kasperowicz.
