Dana Point (myFOXla.com) - A water main broke on South Coast Water District property in
Dana Point late Wednesday night, causing flooding in streets but no
damage to nearby homes, an Orange County Fire Authority captain
said.
Fire authority crews were sent to the main break at 27105
Calle Real, near Calle Juanita, just before 9 p.m., a dispatcher
said.
"The main ruptured at the top of Calle Juanita Street on
South Coast Water District property," fire authority Capt. Greg
McKeown said.
McKeown said the circumstances of the break were unclear, but
a significant amount of water came shooting out of the ground and
gushed into the street.
No homes were threatened by the flooding, but sandbags were
being laid out to divert the rush of water, which had left a
significant of mud, rocks and debris in the street, McKeown said.
There were no evacuations issued, McKeown said.
McKeown said it was unclear when the water crews would
complete the repairs.
