A motorist accused of fatally striking a man in a Los Angeles alley near Culver City and leaving the scene was in custody today, police said.

Los Angeles (myFOXla.com) - The body of an apparent hit-and-run victim was found in the middle of a street in South Los Angeles.
A motorist who swerved to avoid hitting the body on southbound
Western Avenue at the intersection of 78th Street contacted police
around 12:45 a.m., a sergeant of the Los Angeles Police
Department's South Traffic Division told an reporters.
The motorist's vehicle struck a car traveling north on
Western Avenue head-on, but the collision resulted only in minor
damage, he said.
Another sergeant at the LAPD's South Traffic Division said
the victim suffered massive head trauma when he was apparently
struck by a hit-and-run driver.
"Right now we have no witnesses, but we're treating this as a
hit-and- run of a pedestrian," he said.
