Lancaster (myFOXla.com) - A Los Angeles police helicopter crash-landed during a training
exercise in the Antelope Valley, injuring three officers.
The helicopter made a hard landing Thursday afternoon at the
General William J. Fox Airfield in Lancaster, about 40 miles
northeast of Los Angeles.
Ian Gregor of the Federal Aviation Administration says the
chopper was practicing controlled landings without power when it
came down hard on a taxiway.
Los Angeles County fire Inspector Steve Zermeno says the
chopper's underside was damaged. He says one officer onboard
suffered moderate injuries and two had minor injuries. They were
taken to a hospital for treatment and are expected to survive.
