Montebello (myFOXla.com) - A manhunt was under way today for the driver of a pickup truck
that struck and killed an 84-year-old woman walking her dog in
Montebello, a police watch commander said.
The truck struck the woman at 6:12 p.m. Monday at the corner
of Jefferson Boulevard and Alfred Place, and she was pronounced
dead at the scene, Montebello police Lt. Brian Bart said. The dog
was also reported killed.
The woman's name was not released by authorities. She was
Norma Lambo, the widow of former Montebello City Clerk Andrew T.
Lambo, who died in 1988, according to reports.
The pickup driver was described as a Latino man, 35 to 40
years old, with straight black hair combed back, brown eyes, a
mustache and a goatee. He was wearing a white T-shirt or white tank
top, Bart said.
The pickup was described as a white Chevrolet Silverado
extended cab with two doors, tinted back windows, chrome rims and a
chrome front bumper that was apparently damaged in the crash and
was seen dragging on the street after the accident, Bart said.
Bart urged anyone with information about the pickup driver
and the truck to call (323) 887-1313.
