Los Angeles (myFOXla.com) - Oakridge Mobile Home Park residents displaced by the 2008 Sayre fire were allowed to return to their homes -- or home sites -- Saturday, but no overnight stays are allowed yet.
The Nov. 14-20 wildfire destroyed 489 of the 608 mobile homes in the development, but 101 are still standing. Cleanup crews just finished removing all the debris.

"The debris clean-up process has been a tremendous, coordinated effort by all levels of government," Los Angeles City Councilman Richard Alarcon said. "My thanks...to the park residents who have waited so patiently."
The state Department of Housing will begin its review of the 101 yellow- tagged homes still standing at the park on Monday, to determine which are habitable before residents can move back.
Water and gas service were available for those residents whose homes are green-tagged for occupancy. Department of Water and Power employees worked to ensure that electrical power would be available by noon on Monday.
About 370 of the mobile homes were insured by struggling AIG Inc., and the state insurance commissioner negotiated a collective $46 million settlement for those residents.
