Arleta (myFOXla.com) - A police pursuit that began in Carson and traveled north to the
San Fernando Valley, ended peacefully late this morning after the
driver's car was cornered on an Arleta street, authorities said.
The pursuit began at 8:45 a.m. when California Highway Patrol
officers attempted to stop the unidentified male driver on the
northbound San Diego (405) Freeway at Carson Street for an unknown
traffic violation, said Lt. Omar Wilson of the CHP.

Reaching speeds of up to 90 mph, the pursuit continued north,
then eastbound on the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway, and south on
Golden State (5) Freeway before the motorist exited on Roscoe
Boulevard in Sun Valley, Wilson said.
The chase ended about 9:40 a.m. on Jouett Street near Van
Nuys Boulevard in Arleta when CHP officers forced the driver onto
the driveway of a home and boxed his car in, Wilson said. CHP
officers then forced him out of his car, handcuffed him on the
ground and arrested him.
Police did not know if the driver had been heading for the
home, Wilson said. There was no information on what the driver
would be booked on or where he was being held, Wilson said.
Authorities have yet released the driver's name or city of
origin.
