Stanton (myFOXla.com) - Investigators and relatives of a woman who was struck and critically injured by a hit-and-run driver in Stanton reached out for the public's help today to track down the motorist.

Zhen Yee Juang, 48, of Stanton, was struck about 5 p.m. Tuesday at Magnolia and Pacific avenues. Juang was walking home from her job at a Chinese restaurant in Anaheim, a commute that takes her about 30 to 45 minutes, said Jim Amormino, spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

"We know there are a lot of witnesses -- it's a very busy intersection," Amormino said, calling on anyone who may have seen the accident to contact authorities.

Juang was struck by a light blue pickup truck as she walked in a marked crosswalk, Amormino said. The truck dragged her 10 to 15 feet before the driver fled, he added.

She was crossing Magnolia with the light, Amormino said, adding the driver also had a green light turning left from Pacific to southbound Magnolia.

He might not have faced charges if he had stuck around to help, Amormino said.

Juang, who suffered severe injuries to her head, was hospitalized in extremely critical condition and may not survive, according to Amormino.

The truck had an industrial rack in its bed, Amormino said.

The woman's husband, her 19-year-old daughter and 17-year-old son met with reporters today to share photos of the woman and ask for the public's help identifying the truck's driver. The family emigrated from China five years ago.

Juang's daughter, Ying Huynh, called on the suspect to surrender to authorities, "to bring justice to my mom."

"I just want to say may God forgive you," she said.

Huynh said her mother was her best friend.

"She's the most important person in our lives," she said. "The doctor told me that she might not be able to survive, and she has no medical insurance. She's in a real horrible situation."

Anyone with information was asked to call the Orange County Sheriff's Department at (866) TIP-OCSD.
