Los Angeles - A convicted sex offender imprisoned in connection with the death of a 19-year-old woman he met online is scheduled to be released from prison Friday.
Cal State University San Diego student Donna Jou of Rancho Santa Margarita disappeared in June 2007 and her body has never been found.
John Steven "Sinjin" Burgess, 41, said he met Jou through Craigslist. He told authorities she died after he gave her drugs at a party at his home in Palms, and that he panicked and got rid of her body in the ocean.
He pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and a misdemeanor count of concealing her death and was sentenced to five years in prison.
Burgess was charged on March 17, 2008, in connection with Jou's death -- just days before he was to be released from prison for failing to register as a sex offender.
FOX 11's Tony Valdez spoke with Donna Jou's mother, who says that justice hasn't been done for her daughter.
