Los Angeles - A federal agency is investigating whether a Los Angeles-based HIV testing clinic funded by the adult film industry routinely releases health information about actors to porn producers, violating their privacy.

The AIDS Healthcare Foundation announced the investigation into the Adult Industry Medical HealthCare Foundation clinic on Friday.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services investigation is in response to a written complaint from AHF alleging sweeping violations of federal patient confidentiality laws.

AHF claims AIM blocks the release of patient data to state workplace safety officials, yet makes the same data available to adult film producers.

AHF previously complained to state and county officials about health safety lapses in the adult film industry.
