Los Angeles - UPDATE - Here's some great news about a nine-year old girl who had her wheelchair stolen on Thanksgiving Day... she's already got a new one. Many people offered to help after seeing our story about the wheelchair theft, but one man just loaded a wheel chair on his tow truck and got it to her!
Quentin Gutierrez brought Ashanti Barnes an electric wheelchair and $500 to buy a battery and parts for the chair on Saturday.
The reason?
Gutierrez says we just have to help our neighbors, and the best thing in the world is to have a friend.... and from the video report, it definitely looks like he's made a new one.

Original story:
It's pretty low to steal someone's wheelchair. To swipe one from a 9-year-old cancer survivor on Thanksgiving has got to be sinking to a new depth.
Sadly enough, it happened in Los Angeles Thursday morning.
Ashanti Barnes went to her neighbors' home to wish them a Happy Thanksgiving around 11:30 a.m. Thursday and left her wheelchair outside by the stairs because it wouldn't fit through the door.
When Ashanti was leaving, she discovered that someone had made off with her wheelchair.
Ashanti is a cancer survivor. One of her legs was amputated and the wheelchair was her primary means of transportation.
Her mom says the chair wasn't flashy or new or anything like that, so why someone stole it is a mystery.
Ashanti's mom tells us she obtained it through a MEDI-CAL provider, but says requesting a replacement is a lengthy process and she cannot afford $300-500 for a new chair.
All she says she wants is to get the wheelchair back... no questions asked.
Now, police with the LAPD Southeast Division have told us that they've gotten a number of offers to get Ashanti a new chair since they heard about the case.
