Los Angeles - After 20 years, a composite sketch of the "Grim Sleeper"... a serial killer believed responsible for at least 11 deaths... has been released.
Could this help bring to justice one of Los Angeles' worst serial killers?
DNA and ballistics evidence connected the serial killer to the murders of 10 women and one man between 1985 and 2007. After 1988, the killer did not commit any known homicides until 2002. Investigators say he last struck on January 1, 2007.
The victims were all African-American and most were apparent prostitutes or drug addicts, who were sexually assaulted.
A 12th victim escaped after she was shot and raped.
The City Council renewed a $500,000 reward back in May in hopes of apprehending the "Grim Sleeper."
In February, the LAPD released a 911 tape made by an eyewitness more than 20 years ago after he saw the killer dispose of a woman's body in South Los Angeles.
Anyone with information on the murders was asked to contact the LAPD at (877) LAPD-24-7.
