Los Angeles - A former promoter at the Club Les Deux turned himself in to the
Los Angeles Police Department's Hollywood Station today, the
seventh suspect in the "Burglar Bunch," which had targeted
celebrities.
The development came as it was reported that a police search
of the Las Vegas home of a young woman suspected of being part of
the "Burglar Bunch" turned up more than $20,000 in cash, jeans
believed to belong to actress Rachel Bilson and a hat of Lindsay
Lohan's.
The arrest of Jonathan Ajar was confirmed by Sgt. David Tango
at the Hollywood Station, but he declined to provide any additional
details.
The entertainment news Web site TMZ.com reported that Ajar
had been in hiding since police executed a search warrant on his
Winnetka apartment last month. Drugs, guns and ammunition were
found in the search.
Ajar, also known as "Johnny Dangerous," was charged Friday in
a nine- count felony complaint for arrest warrant.
The complaint charged him with four felony counts of
possession for sale of a controlled substance involving cocaine,
Oxycodone, Psilocybin and Ecstasy, two felony counts of possession
for sale of a designated controlled substance involving Clonazepam
and Alprazolam, three counts of possession of a firearm by a felon
and one count of possession of ammunition.
In its search of Rachel Lee's home in Las Vegas, police there
also found a Korean passport, two laptop computers and three
"partially nude" photos of Paris Hilton, according to TMZ.com.
Before Ajar's arrest, Lee had become the latest suspect to be
arrested in a string of burglaries targeting young celebrities. As
much as $3 million in jewelry and clothes have been taken.
The culprits allegedly monitored the homes and whereabouts of
their targets via the Internet, but were caught on video at the
homes of Lohan and reality television star Audrina Patridge. Actors
Megan Fox, Orlando Bloom and Ashley Tisdale were also targeted.
On a computer recovered earlier, police found images of 51
homes they believe were targeted by the group.
Nicholas Prugo, 18, of Calabasas; Courtney Ames and Alexis
Neirs, both 18, Diana Tamayo, 19, and 27-year-old Roy Lopez Jr.
have been charged in the case.
Lee, 18, was arrested in Las Vegas, but has not been charged
by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.
When Ajar's Winnetka apartment was raided, police found
illegal drugs, a pistol belonging to actor Brian Austin Green, a
diamond-encrusted Cartier watch, gold and diamond bracelets and cut
diamonds in a bag weighing more than 42 carats, the Los Angeles
Times reported.
A source familiar with the case told The Times that many of
the items on the list were consistent with merchandise reported
stolen by celebrities, including Bilson, Bloom, Fox, Patridge and
Tisdale.
Investigators believe the young women suspects knew each
other from Indian Hills Continuation High School in Agoura
Hills.
