Drivers Dodge Woman in Wheelchair on Freeway

Sun City (myFOXla.com) - A wrong-way wheelchair gave motorists a scare today on a freeway in Sun City.

An elderly woman in a motorized wheelchair rolled up the McCall Boulevard exit ramp and onto the northbound Escondido (215) Freeway around noon and headed the wrong way in a traffic lane, as her husband chased after her, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Motorists immediately began stopping their vehicles to help her, and she was directed off the road and into a Wendy's parking lot on McCall, according to the CHP.

The woman appeared to be disoriented, but was uninjured, according to the CHP.
