Los Angeles - A gang member is admitting he lied about key evidence in a case against him that ended up in a perjury accusation against a Los Angeles police officer.
The suspect, Rafat Abdallah, is charged with gun possession. Police found the gun when they stopped Abdallah's car for not having a license plate.
Abdallah and his lawyer had said the cops lied, and gave a video to the media showing the car with a license plate in November.
Two days later, we updated the story and reported that LAPD tests indicated the tape was doctored. Abdallah's attorney confirmed that was the case on Friday, January 22nd.
Abdallah's trial on weapons charges is going forward.
