Whittier - Two rare copies of the rare Beatles album "Yesterday and Today" were stolen from a record store on Monday.

A burglar broke into Lovell's Records and Tapes in Whittier early Monday morning and stole only two rare Beatles albums, according to shopkeepers.

Police responded to take a burglary report once the damage and theft was discovered about 6 a.m., according to Whittier police.

A burglar apparently smashed through a front window of the business with a rock, entered the store, and took two framed copies of the Beatles "Yesterday and Today”, which had been framed on the wall as display pieces. They’re said to be worth $1,000 and $500.

It appears that the thief knew exactly what he was after, according to the store’s manager.

The suspect is described as a tall white man with short hair, wearing a hooded sweat shirt, but his face could not be clearly seen in surveillance footage.
