Santa Monica - The sixth suspicious fire in a two-block radius of Santa Monica in 11 days burned some shrubbery on Monday.
The fire was reported at 11:52 a.m. at 1025 Second St., near Washington Avenue, the same location where there was another fire in shrubbery Friday at 12:45 p.m., Sgt. Jay Trisler of the Santa Monica Police Department said.
The series of fires began Feb. 12 in some vehicles at 222 Washington Ave., near Second Street. The next day, there was a fire in a trash bin at 1048 Third St. at 7 a.m. and a fire in a vehicle at 1032 Third St., near Washington Ave.
Santa Monica Police Department's Arson Task Force is asking for the public's help in its investigation of the fires.
