Porter Ranch (myFOXla.com) - Two young girl hikers who were reported missing Monday were airlifted to safety from Aliso Canyon.
An 8-year-old apparently fell and her 12-year-old companion used a cell phone to call for help at 2:53 p.m., Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
The children were not certain of their location and were eventually located north of Porter Ranch by 25 firefighters with help from two helicopter crews. The girls and a dog were hoisted in three airlifts, Humphrey said.
The children were reported missing three hours earlier to police. No one was believed to be seriously injured, Humphrey said.
