Minvan Shot Up in El Sereno, Two Dead

El Sereno - Two people shot to death in a gang-related attack in El Sereno were identified today.

Michael Talamantes Jr., 32, of Rowland Heights, and Priscilla Jimenez , 31, of La Puente, died in the shooting in the 3000 block of Warwick Avenue about 4:45 a.m., according to police and coroner's Investigator Jerry McKibben.

At least one gunman opened fire on a minivan carrying Talamantes and Jimenez, and the vehicle crashed near Allan Street, according to police.

The minivan was riddled with at least a dozen bullet holes, according to a camera crew at the scene. An officer with Los Angeles police Media Relations said one of the two killed was a known gang member.
