(MYFOX NATIONAL) - Several Internet reports Friday night and Saturday morning said that Ryan Jenkins had been arrested at Toronto airport, but they appear to be just rumors.
According to TMZ , U.S. Marshals boarded a plane and arrested a man they believed to be Jenkins, but authorities later said it wasn't him.
Jenkins, who is suspected of murdering his wife, model Jasmine Fiore, is still at large. The man who was briefly in custody in Toronto was released.
On Thursday, Jenkins was charged with murder in Orange County, Calif. He allegedly strangled Fiore to death, removed her fingers and teeth to obscure positive identification of her body, and crammed her into a suitcase and threw the suitcase into a dumpster near her apartment building.
Fiore's body was discovered by a man searching the dumpster for recyclable bottles and cans. Orange County coroner's investigators used serial numbers on Fiore's breast implants to confirm her identity.
Police have speculated that a text message that Fiore received from a former boyfriend the day before the murder may have set off Jenkins. They believe he may have fled to his native Canada or possibly Honduras .
The U.S. Marshals Service is offering a $25,000 reward for tips leading to Jenkins' arrest.
