Perris (myFOXla.com) - A Riverside County man and his sister had a surprise visitor to
their home over the weekend... an 11-foot python slithering across
the yard.
You can watch Al Naipo's report in the video
player.
43-year-old Francisco Delgadillo was on the porch of his Perris area home chatting with his sister when he says he saw something moving in the yard.
After he got a better look, Delgadillo saw it was... as he put it... a "huge snake" and called Riverside County Animal Services. Animal Control officer Christina Avila arrived first on the scene.
When she saw the size of the python, she called for backup.
Avila and fellow Animal Services officer Dylan Gates wrangled the snake, measuring 11-feet and weighing in at 50 pounds, and heaved it into Avila's truck.
The snake is currently being kept at the animal shelter so the rightful owner will have a chance to claim it.
If that doesn't happen, Animal Services will work with an rescue
group to find a home or sanctuary for the wayward reptile.
