Ojai - It looks like turkeys are making an Ojai neighborhood their Thanksgiving holiday refuge.
More than 30 wild turkeys have been hanging around a Boardman Road neighborhood for a month or more.
These photos were sent in to us by Chuck Barrett, who says he heard a thump on his roof about a month ago... and when he went to check out what was up, he saw a couple of wild turkeys on his roof.
Since then, Barrett says the turkey flock has grown to over 30 in the area. Obviously, his house has become a favorite hangout for them.
According to a Ventura County Star story on the turkey topic, a California Department of Fish and Game Warden says this turkey flock is probably made up of birds released by the National Wild Turkey Federation years ago that just decided not to leave.
Wherever they came from... they sure make for a set of interesting Thanksgiving-themed photos!
