College Student Runs for La Canada School Board

Los Angeles - There's an election on Tuesday for two seats on the La Canada Flintridge school board. It's one thing to run. It's another thing entirely to run at 20 years of age AND while you're in college across the country, but that's just what candidate Andrew Blumenfeld is doing. He's also leading in fundraising!

Andrew's running his campaign out of his dorm room at Princeton University in New Jersey.

He says his campaign has struck a nerve in the school district by wanting to focus schools back on the student interests.

Andrew says he wants to increase teacher accountability and quality... and, as a relatively recent graduate from the district in question... he's in touch with what needs to be done.

How will he do it from thousands of miles away? Well, Andrew says he's actually back in the district quite a bit... especially since the campaign started... and plans to return full-time once he's graduated from Princeton.
