As Fourth of July approaches, it’s a good time to reflect on freedom and love of country.

We were heartened to be invited to this LAUSD kindergarten graduation at Superior Elementary School, where the kids still say the Pledge of Allegiance daily.

Principal Jerilyn Schubert:
“It’s the words of the Pledge of Allegiance that really fills up all of our hearts.”

This is why we were shocked when another network chose to edit out the words “Under God” in a recent patriotic video tribute to our military. The network later apologized for this decision, but even in the apology they left out the missing words.

Samantha doesn’t miss a beat as she describes what the Pledge of Allegiance means to her.

Samantha:
“It’s about loving our country.”

We salute LAUSD for continuing to inspire this love of country.

Words that inspire…. words that bring us together…. words we should never forget.
