Los Angeles - The Fulton County sheriff's office says former Washington Wizards and Los Angeles Lakers basketball player Javaris Crittenton has been returned to Atlanta from Los Angeles to face a murder charge.
Sheriff's office spokeswoman Tracy Flanagan said Thursday night that Crittenton had arrived and was in custody. The jail's website showed Crittenton was incarcerated there.
Atlanta police had said Crittenton was being brought back to Georgia by the department's fugitive unit, and will be held at the county jail.
Authorities say Crittenton will face the charge in the death of 22-year-old Julian Jones, a mother of four who was hit by gunfire during a drive-by shooting. Police said the shots were aimed at someone walking with her. Crittenton denies involvement.
Crittenton was detained at a southern California airport two weeks ago.
