Los Angeles - After the California 200 off-road race accident that killed eight people this past weekend, some fans say they're afraid the terrible incident will change desert racing... or perhaps even destroy the sport... since the up-close-and-personal experience that draws so many people to the experience.

The issue: Balancing thrills with safety.
