Los Angeles - Looking for tasty waves and sweet swells but the surf is flat? No problem. If you've got a tarp, you can go surfing just about anywhere.

Darrin Niner / Tarp Surfer
"We have surf any size you want. You want two, three footers? You got it. You want eight to ten foot barrels? You got that. You want offshore winds? All day long."

From NorCal to SoCal, they're repping their tarp turfs.

Homer Henard / Tarp Surfer
"The Santa Cruz boys and our crew are kinda on the forefront of throwing the best barrels out there."

Darrin Niner / Tarp Surfer
"We've been bombing hills all day in San Diego."

They're tarp surfing and these guys have mad style.

Key Dougherty / Tarp Surfer
"You gotta bring everything you got."

What started as a way for surfers to pass the time when the waves were flat has morphed into a gnarly sport being embraced around the world.

Homer Henard / Tarp Surfer
"When you come out of a barrel, it feels like you came out of a barrel. It's epic."

Homer Henard and his NorCal crew star in one video that got over a million views in one week on YouTube.

Chris Killen / tarpsurfing.com
"The coolest thing for us is people like what we do."

Omar Etcheverry / ruseentertainment.com
"Kinda turns you into a kid really."

All of them are professional surfers and they say riding the tasty tarp waves is the next best thing to doing the real thing.

Nic Lamb / Tarp Surfer
"It's all pretty much about getting barreled."

The Inner Vision "O-Side" crew is made up of surfing and downhill-skating vets who bomb hills when they're not getting tarp tubed.

Tye Donnelly / Tarp Surfer
"It's very soulful and it just fits perfect."

Tye Donnelly and his O-Side crew kick it old school... striking poses like the dying cockroach the manual and the kick five.

Key Doughtery's known for his smooth tarp attitude.

Key Doughtery / Tarp Surfer
"Just do whatever comes natural. We try to have fun wherever it takes us. We're out here with a tarp. You know, in parking lot. Gotta do it."

Both NorCal and SoCal say they do it for the kids.

Nic Lamb / Tarp Surfer
"Not every kid can get barreled. Not everyone lives by the ocean, so it gives them an opportunity to do something similiar to surfing and get barreled."

Omar Etcheverry / ruseentertainment.com
"It really gives younger kids a chance to get a big tube which is amazing."

Tarp surfers want kids to know all they need is a tarp, some weights, and an empty parking lot to catch some waves.

Homer Henard / Tarp Surfer
"It's just good clean fun for everyone."
