The National Weather Service in San Diego was expecting a couple of large west swells from north pacific storms to impact Orange County beaches through Tuesday.
Both swells were expected to bring surf heights of four to eight feet with local sets to ten feet along west-facing beaches.
The weather service notes that the heavy surf will produce dangerous rip currents and localized beach erosion.
High tides the will top 6 feet in Newport Beach, and hit similar heights along the Orange County coast, which could make for hazardous swimming conditions, according to the NWS.
