Los Angeles - Five-day weather forecast for Los Angeles and surrounding communities from Friday, January 20.
Weekend Weather Briefing:
Today will be dry... mostly cloudy with some sunny breaks and a bit cooler with highs in the 60s.
The rain should hold off until about midnight or later...the heaviest rain will fall from about 3am until 9am Saturday morning. Showers will linger into the early afternoon hours... before we clear out by evening.
Rainfall totals from this storm should average near 1/2"... but some foothill locations could receive up to 3/4".
The snow level will be quite high near 8000'. Only the highest resort area will see accumulating snow.
Winds will be a story... especially near the coast and into the deserts & mountains as the storm passes through Saturday morning and afternoon. Wind advisories and high wind warnings will likely be needed.
**It will be dry from saturday evening through Sunday evening... so the weekend will not be a wash! Sunday will not be that bad of a day.
A second weaker storm will pass through late Sunday night into Monday. Very little rain is expected with this.
Important to note… we will be on the tail end of these storms. Most of the moisture and energy will remain to our north. .The rainfall that we will receive will not make up for the large deficits that we have accumulated during the month long dry streak.
After Monday's weak storm… we will dry out and warm up again.
