(EndPlay Staff Reports) - Maybe it's the altitude.
Viewers who tuned into Wednesday night's episode of "American Idol" eager to see contestants rock out in the Rocky Mountains must have been sorely disappointed.
Judges Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler only handed out nine golden tickets at the Aspen, Colo., auditions.
Here's a quick recap featuring some hits and misses from Wednesday night's episode:
Curtis Gray kicks off this episode's auditions. He takes on a predictable – but charming – Boyz 2 Men song and wows judges. Jackson appreciates his song selection and Lopez says he's cute, so off to Hollywood he goes.
Talk about sibling rivalry. Teelana Hedgepath claims she's spent the past 19 years living in her older sister's shadow and hopes "Idol" success is her way out. She auditions with her own version of Melissa Ethridge's "Bring Me Some Water." Judges are less than impressed, but they let her down gently.
Alanna Snare tried to bring some local flavor to her audition. Apparently she waits tables and tends bar at a restaurant famous for its Rocky Mountain Oysters. She auditions with Dolly Parton's "Jolene." Jackson spared any sugar coating: He tells her she's terrible.
Jairon Jackson wanted to do something different with his audition, so he went to stage with an original song. Lopez seems to have faith in him and Jackson is granted a golden ticket to move on.
There's only room in the world for one Lady Gaga, but don't tell Angie Ziederman. Her version of the Producer's "If You've Got It, Flaunt It," quickly turns into a performance art-esque break dancing routine. Her second song, Roy Orbinson's "Blue Bayou" is a little better. Even though Lopez isn't thrilled, Jackson seems something in her and she's given a ride to Hollywood.
Judges didn't even let air guitarist Magic Cyclops finish his audition. Whether it was his fake British accent or inane performances, Jackson excused himself midway through for a bathroom break. Cyclops won't be moving forward.
